A wonderful interior view of an East coast fishing cabin by well known New Jersey artist, Albert Bross Jr. The painting is in excellent condition and has been recently professionally cleaned and is ready to hang and enjoy. The painting is signed, lower right, A. Bross Jr.

Albert Bross Jr. was born in Newark, New Jersey, studied at the Art Students League in New York, with Frank Vincent DuMond and briefly with G.W. Bridgeman and W. McNulty. Bross studied lithography with W. Barnet and B. Miller. The works of Albert Bross have been widely exhibited in group, regional and international exhibitions and over 120 one-man exhibitions throughout the Eastern United States.

Although, probably best known for his Eastern U.S. landscapes and seascapes, this painting shows Bross as an artist capable of absorbing and masterfully rendering works in the great tradition of such 19th century American trompe l'oeil artists as William Harnett and John Peto and 20th century American icons such as Norman Rockwell.

With stunning attention to detail and an uncanny ability to render the rustic surfaces of this weathered shack and it's relevant contents, Bross superbly captures a scene that is truly Americana at it's nostalgic best. A special touch is the mirror that not only reflects the context of the cabin's setting, but in it self, produces another superb painting within the painting.
