Description
Price $425, 3 pieces
Three fine Vietnamese Blue and White ceramic vessels from the Hoi An Hoard shipwreck dating from the late 15th to early 16th century. The small bottle measures 5 5/8' high, the larger bowl measuring 2 1/2" high by 4 1/4" diameter, the smaller bowl 1 5/8" high by 2 3/4" diameter. Each piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks aside from a few small chips on rim of the larger bowl. Both bowls still retain the Hoi An Hoard stickers with catalog numbers from the original Butterfields auction in Oct, 2000. However the sticker the printed layer of the sticker on the bottle is missing leaving only the plain under layer.
The age and and provenance of these pieces is indisputable as they were taken directly from the a shipwreck that sank in the South China Seas (The Dragon Sea, specifically) approximately 500 years ago.
