A superbly crafted Hawaiian Monkey Pod Calabash. The bowl is in excellent condition and measures 6 3/4" h X 10 1/2" dia. The bowl is inscribed on the bottom, "House of Kauai, Monkey Pod, Hawaii".
While this is a latter day , 20th century bowl, likely lathe turned; it certainly captures the spirit, quality and beauty of the finest handcrafted bowls from the classic 1800's era of Hawaiian crafts.
