Offered as one lot are two volumes of Histoire Naturelle, Volumes 11, 1758 and 18, 1764. Both are leather bound, very tight bindings and in excellent condition with only minimal foxing, no apparent staining to the pages. There is some rubbing to the spine of Volume 11. Each volume measures 6 1/2" X 4". Both printed, "PARIS DE L'MPRIMERIE ROYALE".
Volume 11, presumably describes the lives and environs of wild cats and domestic cats with 8 related engravings. Also various deer with 11, related engravings.
Volume 18, describes large cats; lions, leopards, cheetahs, etc., with 15 related engravings.
As I'm sure any dealer or collector can tell by my descriptions; I am not an expert in antiquarian books. Nevertheless, I have tried to describe the books accurately.
